Features Moss

Features SPHAGNUM MOSS.

The most important characteristic of this species is in its great capacity of absorption and retention of water, being able to absorb up to 20 times its weight in water without losing it. This feature also allows its use as a land improver in rainfed areas where water is scarce, which raises production costs for this concept. It allows a plus to drip irrigation or any other form of technified irrigation, by increasing the moisture retention capacity which will allow a greater space between the irrigation times which means considerably lowering production costs for farmers who work this type of land. It also allows the location and fixation of nutrients, which will allow lowering fertilization costs, as well as allowing the plant to search for the resource spontaneously reducing the levels of handling stress and the losses that result from them. Examples of crops that require this type of land are: Vineyards, Fruit Trees, Shrubs, Forage, Crops, Flowers in simple and heated greenhouses and others that need large volumes of water to complete their production. Other uses that have been known are the manufacture of sanitary napkins such as diapers, surgical elements (due to their antiseptic capacity), etc., and filter for cleaning and retention of waste on rails in process plants that need to retain organic waste.
